The largest bird park in African and one of Cape Town’s prime tourist attractions is the World of Birds situated in a tropical setting on 4 ha of land in the heart of Hout Bay.

This wildlife sanctuary with more than 3000 birds creates an adventure for adults and children alike with its spacious walkways in the aviaries, allowing close contact with nature.

Some of the birds you will see are cranes, owls, parrots, guineafowl and even eagles. Other small animals to be seen are monkeys and meerkats, making the Word of Birds a prime spot for nature lovers and photographers.

A Monkey Jungle invites you to make friends with the squirrel monkeys which are housed there.

Hout Bay is just 10km outside of Cape Town and 100 000 visitors annually take the scenic routes of the Coastal Drive via Camps Bay and Llandudno or via Kirstenbosch and Constantia, or on the way to and from Cape Point Nature Reserve via the spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive.
